  Server Facts

Being a PHP developer myself, I know how important it is to have a fully functional server to run PHP applications. My server is customized specifically for me by me, a PHP developer. The server runs the latest Fedora operating system (currently version 12) and there are only a few applications and services installed. When a new Fedora system is released, I totally rebuild the system, trimming the fat more and more each time. All the systems resources are used by Apache and MySQL. I have disabled the GUI and removed all other server applications from the system. This leaves it with: MySQL, Apache, and vsFTP.

The PHP configuration is like no other. I have installed and updated all the extensions I need to run my applications. If there is an additional extension that I do not currently have installed, I take the time and install it. Also, the PHP settings are set to use the maximum amount of memory and allows for longer script execution times. I have also just opened up SSI for your Server Side Includes executions.
